Maintenance

The most critical factor to last handpiece long is daily maintenance with oil. It is especially important to avoid mal-function or damage on mobile part such as bearings that is caused by worn-out part or accumulated debris. Please make habit to lubricate handpiece after use or absence of use, needless to say before autoclave. When blood or chemical is believed to go inside the handpiece, more thorough maintenance than usual is required after use.

Oil maintenance by spray lubrication can 1)decrease the worn-out speed of bearing or gear on mobile section, 2)lead to less vibration or bur wobbling, 3)do internal cleaning by driving out debris inside. All of them contribute to longer life of handpiece.

Contra Angle Handpiece

Spray Lubrication

Please use the nozzle for E-type, as in the photo.

* The spray in the photo is Yoshida Spray.

Spray oil for about 2 seconds. Hold the handpiece tight to avoid being blown away by air-pressure. Wipe off excessive oil after spraying. Repeat spraying till oil oozing-out becomes clean.

* The same method applies to straight handpiece.

Inside Cleaning

* Internal cleaning by disassemble the head is more effective to remove blood or chemical inside than spray cleaning.

Please use the nozzle for chuck cleaning of airturbine, as in the photo.

* Don't use chemical or alcohol for inside cleaning. The material can damage internal axis.

Spray oil for about 2 seconds. Hold the handpiece tight to avoid being blown away by air-pressure. Wipe off excessive oil after spraying. Repeat spraying till oil oozing-out becomes clean.

After the maintenance, tighten the pouch nut well. Please make trial run before actual use.

* The spray in the photo is Yoshida Spray.

Push the tip of spray nozzle in drive-air hole (arrowed in the photo) at the back end of handpiece.

* Push the nozzle well to avoid oil leak. Hold the handpiece tight to avoid being blown away by air-pressure.

Spray oil about fully 2 seconds. Please confirm that oil oozes out of head part.

Wipe off excessive oil after spraying. Repeat spraying till oil oozing-out becomes clean.

When blood, saliva, water enters the head of handpiece, it can drive out debris inside to spray in the chuck hole for about 2 seconds.

Hold the handpiece tight to avoid being blown away by air-pressure. Repeat spraying till oil oozing-out becomes clean.

* Please have the handpiece repaired, if you notice any abnormality.
